144hz monitor hdmi

The Eve Spectrum announced yesterday that it will have HDMI 2.1 and is due to be released in Q4, which will be the same time period as the next gen consoles release, Its also now the very first 4K 144hz Gaming Monitor to confirm HDMI 2.1. As of right now there are 4K 144hz monitor's out there, but none yet have HDMI 2.1, only HDMI 2.0, which at 4K, only limits the consoles to 60hz due to the bandwidth of HDMI 2.0 even if the Monitor has more than 120hz refresh rate. A 4K 120Hz display won't make a blind bit of difference if a game is locked at 60 fps. And i already know that i'm not going to see 120fps on Series X at 4K, my PC's RTX 2080Ti can't even reach that at 4K, but that may change when i get the RTX 3080Ti.

Whoever told you it can run 120 Hz over HDMI is wrong.
